Recipients of The Kootenay Music Awards “Best Reggae Song” are a six piece band (chapman stick, ukulele, guitar, piano, drums and three part harmonies) based out of Nelson BC. Using this unique instrumentation they blend ska/reggae and funk into original music to keep the dance floor bumping all night.

This Kelowna B.C based band’s sound is best described as a blend of indie-soul tinged with jazz and lightly dabbed in psych pop. The group gathers inspiration from artists like King Krule, Peach Pit, Alabama Shakes, and Early Eyes. Drawing on experiences from their international backgrounds, the band creates emotionally stirring music that captivates listeners.
The Kamloops based band plays psychedelia influenced pop and rock music. Creating warmth and drawing vivid colours from the sounds that surround. Combining deliberate psych-pop arrangements with a measured amount of absurdity, the four piece produces thought-provoking music that weaves wistful melody through vibrant tones and intricate grooves.
The Allmost Brothers played their first show in 2017 in the wake of Butch Trucks and Gregg Allmans passing. It was supposed to be a one night Allman Brothers tribute. Instead the band has continued to play shows, digging deeper into the Allman’s catalogue of music. The Allmost Brothers pride themselves on delivering classic songs, such as Whipping Post, One Way Out and In Memory Of Elizabeth Reed. Delivering energy, passion and rawness that connects audiences of all ages.
Dark Star has been celebrating the music of many of our favourite jambands since 1996. Drawing from a catalogue of music which includes; Grateful Dead, Phish, SCI, Garaj Mahal, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Funk, Blues and Bluegrass. DS then incorporates those influences to deliver original material filled with story telling vocals, and soaring guitar solos.
